Emergency Preparedness -- Are you ready?

Are you prepared for a category 5 Hurricane? It is hurricane season and Saber wants to help the Savannah community stay informed on what to do, where to go and where to find information to help you be prepared during emergency situations.

At the local level, everyone should always stay abreast of their local news, law enforcement agencies and CEMA. The federal government has several Fusion centers/installations around the country, but Chatham Emergency Management Agency was also created to management emergencies at a local level. At the state level, Georgia also has a fusion center located in Atlanta metro area and works with other federal and state agencies to ensure execution of emergency procedures are effective, efficient and in a timely manner.

Emergency Preparedness is not merely for natural disasters, but also for terror attacks or power surges from nuclear power plants or even massive accidents on rail, air, sea and land (e.g. forest fires, illness on cruise ships, two rail lines colliding, just to name a few). There are all types of emergencies where everyone seems to be unprepared or have no idea where to get information from. Saber wants to help the Savannah community by providing at least links to help you in your emergency preparedness. The links below are a compilation of federal, state and local agencies that you can go to find information about accidents, what to do in evacuations and love ones who are in dire straits.
