The first full week of 2010 has been a rough one as far as weather is concerned. The entire country has been tackling a major winter storm which was challenging for the southeast region. But, with all the wintry challenges, companies’ operations and staffing has been dangerously interrupted. When you have this type of disruption, vulnerabilities become more prominent and must be addressed immediately before any threats are presented.
As many businesses overlook operational threats, in these times when threats become real very quickly, businesses must have backup and recovery procedures in place, rehearsed periodically so that if the need arise, execution can be smooth and without loss of assets. With the many ice storms that hit the southeast, it can affect deliveries/transportation, power lines (electrical outages) that can knock out computer and security systems and even reduce staff to bare minimum leaving an opening for many threats. If you don’t have a backup/recovery plan in place, threats can be real-time intrusions that can not only intrude in your daily operations, but increase your asset loss.
Although Saber provides many of our customers with protective services through security officers, we have found that having immediate operational backup through available professional staffing can have such a strong effect in asset security; asset, not just in business intelligence, but operational reliance. 2010 will pose many challenges, but Saber is always prepared to work with clients to ensure their assets are protected.
